Projects

Forest Breeze Conservation is in the initial founding stages of a nonprofit and rolling right along with the support of our lovely team!

Since being founded in 2020, Forest Breeze Conservation has partnered with Gabonese Forest Elephant Researcher, Dr. Steeve Ngama, and is embarking on projects towards realizing FBC’s mission. In May 2021, Executive Director Grace Williams visited Gabon to view potential sites and begin the process of connecting and partnering with governmental agencies, other internationally known nonprofits, and local farmers.

Since then, Grace along with her Board of Directors and University of Oregon’s NonProfit Management Degree Program Masters student team have developed a

strategic plan with a comprehensive approach to conservation, including education, research,

sustainable organic farming, and human-elephant conflict mitigation.

The FBC team has accomplished a great deal since that first visit to Gabon.

Our next steps require a return visit to:

-Plan construction needed on the field site that was established in 2021.

-Facilitate and host a community-driven farming workshop aimed at reducing human-wildlife

conflict whilst providing benefit to farmers and their community.

-Continue fostering relationships with governmental officials and with in-country partners

 critical to the FBC mission.

Following this critical trip in-country, the Board of Directors will aim to meet the funding goal needed to get the field site up and running to allow for researchers and conservationists to have a place to stay in order to carry out their work.

The third phase that we hope to accomplish in the next three years will include setting up a rehabilitation center to rehabilitate endangered species throughout Gabon.
